Discover Your Style—Not everyone loves the gym, and that’s okay! Maybe you love dancing, hiking, swimming, lifting weights, yoga, or pickleball. How about something simple like 10 squats, 10 push-ups, or 20 jumping jacks a few times a day? We are not working on perfection; we are just trying to start a movement habit that feels right and doable.
Make this fun- Explore and experiment with different types of movement until you find what makes you look forward to being active. Have you ever tried rebounding? It’s a mini-trampoline that fits in most rooms and makes for a super fun workout, especially with some upbeat music! It’s also a great way to take breaks from sitting—I keep one in my office for quick, energizing jumps (with a side bonus of improved lymphatic circulation)! Five minutes at a time will reenergize the most fatigued brain and body.
Set Small Wins – Start with manageable goals. Even 10 minutes a day can make a difference and build momentum. Every small success builds confidence and motivation for the next! Remember, action creates momentum.
Focus on How It Makes You Feel – Forget about quick results. Instead, tune into the mental clarity, energy boost, and mood lift that movement brings.
Remember, it’s about feeling stronger and happier—not just hitting a target. It is also about feeling empowered to find movement that you look forward to doing, not just trudging through.
